The Leading Hotels of The World manages 400 luxury properties in over 80 countries, offering the quintessential vacation experience at each location. We coordinated four different lifestyle and hospitality productions with three photographers, each at exclusive destinations in the United States, Turks and Caicos Islands, Brazil, and Switzerland. The still and video assets would be used for web advertisements and placement on the brand’s website, along with each property’s website.
The agency Bright Red asked us to produce a digital campaign for The Leading Hotels of the World, focusing on the unique amenities of four resort properties around the world. To manage this, we broke the four photoshoots down into two objectives: cozy winter amenities and sunny tropical activities. We collaborated with the agency to help find photographers/directors in each location, and to manage four unique productions from start to finish.
The first production took place in Colorado at the Sonnenalp Vail Luxury Resort, and we brought on Denver-based photographer Bryce Boyer as the director/photographer. Each shoot called for a combination of stills and video, and we worked with Bryce to assemble a small crew capable of capturing both simultaneously. We cast two talent, along with a few members of the hotel staff, and the small team consisted of Bryce, a camera operator, an assistant, a digital tech, and a hair/makeup stylist. Senior Producer Bryan Sheffield coordinated the production and was on-site to manage the tech scout with the client and agency and oversee the shoot day production and shot list execution. We even sampled some of the traditional bavarian coffee that was featured in the shoot!
For the second production, the team went abroad to Switzerland, to highlight the 100-year-old Gstaad Palace where photographer Thomas Bekker helped capture this fairytale location and historic landmark. Similar to the first shoot, a small team came together to capture the content of various amenities and experiences, including a fondue dinner, a stunning nightclub, and winter-themed excursions.
In August, the third production took us from the snow-topped Alps to the tropical beaches of Turks and Caicos, where Bryce and his team captured the beautiful Rock House Resort. Senior Producer Bryan was on site and helped arrange travel, lodging, and talent for the multi-day production. Along with Bryce and Bright Red art director extraordinaire Eric Vaughn, our team consisted of a DP/Camera Op, Digital tech, camera assistant, hair/makeup/wardrobe stylist, and two models. Rock House Director of Marketing Audrey Gonzalez, was on set and helped with all property coordination and planning. We concluded this part of the trip with an amazing beachside meal that wrapped part three of the production.
Lastly, the final production took us to Santa Catarina, Brazil, where photographer Andre Klotz captured the Ponta dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort about nine hours south of São Paulo, Brazil. These last few shoots featured an array of beachside setups, as the turquoise waters are included in each aspect of the resort. From canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding to relaxing spa treatments overlooking the ocean, these remote locations set the tone for a picturesque vacation.
After all the planning that went into the production, some of the best content we captured was the spontaneous moments of beauty, like when a flock of birds passed over a romantic sunset dinner on the beach. While we had a creative brief set for every location, we took time to notice the natural beauty that makes each resort a leading hotel in the world.
