In November, Wonderful Machine received three separate stock requests from Der Spiegel Magazine. All were unmanaged stock requests, which means the photographer negotiated the usage of the images on their own. All requests were for one-time print editorial use.
First, Der Spiegel was seeking recent portraits of the following individuals: Ivan Krstić — a Croatian computer security expert at Apple Inc., and Lachlan Murdoch — Fox Corporation CEO and News Corp. chairman. In addition, they requested any photos of the FOX Newsroom or any images showing the workspaces and studios in Murdoch’s News Corp. headquarters.
Next up, the magazine required photos featuring images of various subjects related to the tech company, Intel. These included photos of Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger (particularly recent portraits of him with President Joe Biden and at the US Congress), Intel operations in Arizona, The Intel Museum in Santa Clara, and photos of Intel EVP & Chief Commercial Officer, Christoph Schell.
Lastly, Der Spiegel was looking for images for an upcoming piece about Google. They asked for recent photos of the Google Campus, images of Elizabeth Reid (VP and GM of Search at Google Mountain View), Karen DeSalvo (Chief Health Officer at Google Mountain View), as well as Alphabet Inc./Google co-founders Larry Page & Sergey Brin, and current CEO Sundar Pichai.
