This September was a promising month for analytics, with upward trends in nearly all areas when compared to the same period last year. The most noticeable change was in average session duration, which increased 15.62%, from 2:32 minutes to 2:56 minutes this year. Throughout most of the year, we had been observing decreasing trends for overall pageviews and pages per session, but this month saw increases in both categories.
Again, the United States holds onto its #1 spot with about 54.8% of visitors located stateside this month. However, Wonderful Machine’s audience continues to spread internationally when compared to the 61.1% of traffic that was USA-based the previous year. The Philippines also pulled ahead this September to make their way into the top 5, with 2.6% of overall traffic.
Photographer search results were also up this month, with a total of 7,930 searches performed compared to 7,186 in 2017. Our member photographers have been receiving more profile views as well – 12,804 for September which puts the average number of profile views a month at 19.25. Profile click-throughs are at a combined 5,218 click-throughs, for an average of 7.84 clicks per photographer for September. 40.7% of photographer profile views resulted in a click-through to their website.

The Member blog continues to see significant traffic with 8,974 views last month, for an increase of 49.82% since 2017. Yet again, Expert Advice: The Photographer’s Bio received the most traffic, followed by Expert Advice: Finding a Rep and this month, our Expert Advice: Print Portfolios also made it into the top three.
