Stephanie Mullins, a talented food photographer from Tennessee, came to us not only for a new logo, but for a more cohesive brand overall. Having recently celebrated a precious new addition to her family, Stephanie is taking some time at home to breathe some new life into her marketing materials with a completely new Brand Identity.
It’s easy to stay tied up in your current work and let the marketing fall to the back burner.

As she’s currently looking to attract new clients, launching a collection of new work on a re-designed website is a part of the process. Stephanie’s previous branding was clean and simple but lacked a distinct personality. It didn’t distract from her work, but it also didn’t add much to it.
What Stephanie needed was a logo and brand that would look professional and set her apart—one that would walk the line between polished and feminine, and really speak about her personality. I decided to utilize her initials in the wordmark, creating a range of options that were both sleek and elegant.
Stephanie’s reaction to the logos was overwhelmingly positive.
I opened up [the] email and a huge smile showed up on my face!
While she was absolutely thrilled with all the options, this is the one that spoke to her:
Now that we had a winning logo, it was time to consider color. On Stephanie’s original website, she was using a grayscale color palette that was understated and allowed her work to be the hero. We explored some grayscale options for the new mark, but settled on a subtle color that complimented her work and would provide some additional opportunities for a more unique brand.
In the end, she chose the yellow and gray option. Not only is this color palette subtle and soft, but the yellow compliments the warm tones in both her photographs and her character. We then dove into Stephanie’s stationery pack, after which we ended up with this business card:
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Stephanie, and I can’t wait to delve into a brand new website for her. She had this to say about her experience working with Wonderful Machine:
Reaching out to the WM designers to help me with this process has been an awesome experience, and I couldn’t be happier with the final product! I now hand over my new business with a huge smile knowing that I am finally establishing my brand.
