Find a Rep: Ghazalle Badiozamani’s Measured Approach

BY Eloísa García 30 November 2022
Food/Drink Intel, Case Studies, Marketing, Find a Rep

When I learned that my next Find A Rep project would be with a food photographer, I was ecstatic, because I just love food and the culture surrounding it. After I opened her portfolio and saw the level of photography she represents, I got even more excited about working with Ghazalle Badiozamani. Based in Brooklyn, N.Y., Ghazalle is a photographer who shows her knowledge of and passion for food in a city known for all types of cuisines. In her own words:

I shoot food because I love how it brings people together and nourishes our bodies as well as our souls.

Brooklyn, N.Y.-based photographer Ghazalle Badiozamani's food imagery for campaign sent to agencies.
A look at the campaign sent to agencies during Ghazalle’s Find a Rep consulting service.

From the first time we spoke, I found Ghazalle to be organized and very interested in every part of the process. We discussed in detail the selection of agencies and she asked me to include the names of specific people she had contacted before the pandemic in 2019. Many of the contacts she had been speaking with lost touch during the pandemic and we wanted to support her as she tried to reconnect, as a result, Ghazalle’s final list included 43 contacts. As she lives and works in Brooklyn, Ghazalle was especially interested in being represented in New York, so 90% of the list included representatives only in New York City.

The campaign was launched in early September 2022 and was a success, with 76% openings, of those she had 52% clicks, and 26% of those recipients reached back out. I had not seen that number of responses and such flattering comments about a photographer’s work in any of the marketing projects I’ve done for Wonderful Machine. In fact, the three comments below all came from agents who responded with an offer for Ghazalle:

The bones here are superior, I would adore meeting her. Thank you so much for sending me her work. Please let me know what the next steps are. – Joe Lombardo

Thanks so much for reaching out and for the introduction. Ghazalle’s work is beautiful and I would love to meet with her either virtually or via phone call. -Lyon MGMT

I’ve always loved Ghazalle’s work. I’d be happy to find some time to connect. -James Taylor

As a consultant, it is very exciting to work on a campaign where you can open a dialogue with the recipients of the campaign. I really appreciate every time an agent responds to my emails, and I always respond by thanking them for the time they took to review and connect.

The artistry of Ghazalle’s food photography is seen in these truly tasteful tabletop displays!

Ghazalle was also very excited about the feedback and contacted each person who responded favorably to our campaign. I think this service helped her realize all the opportunities open to her in Brooklyn and New York City. Even after our process was over, I was able to recommend her once again to Carolyn Somlo as she was looking for a fantastic food photographer, and in my opinion, Ghazalle Badiozamani is just that.
