It’s the month of April and it rained emails and phone calls from our team of producers and associate producers! The team smashed through their records from last month for calling, emailing, and setting up meetings as they continued with our three-pronged approach to reaching publications, brands, and agencies. With our team adding a steady stream of valuable clients to our database, and maintaining and building relationships, we’re definitely expecting some great connections to bloom this spring.
Publications: This month, Claire wrapped up her research on alumni magazines and delved into independent and international publications in an effort to expand our client database. April showers definitely revealed some growth this month as Claire and Meli sent a total of 366 emails and made 306 phone calls. As a result of their outreach efforts, they managed to connect with 61 clients to promote our photographers and tell them more about what Wonderful Machine has to offer. From their connections, they made a total of 15 meetings.
Meli found that this month, clients have been especially grateful to be connected with photographers matching their interests. One of the meetings was with the photo editor at Discover Magazine, who was pleased to see Kat Schleicher’s work:
Thanks for the message! I’d be happy to meet with Kat. She has a nice style, good eye for emotion, and is very polished, precise and seasoned. I just looked at her work and wondered why I did not know her.
Brands: For April, Julia and Morgan once again delved into the massive pool of brands and emailed 358 prospects at some of the most well-known and/or profitable companies around the world. They followed those emails up with 241 phone calls and were able to connect with 109 people. They were able to secure 12 meetings, some of which will be for their next round of portfolio events, happening in Seattle towards the end of May. With Morgan heading up research and Julia heading up outreach, they continue to add new companies and prospects that would be valuable to our photographers. They’re also keeping up-to-date with the thousands that we already have in our database.

Sean reaches out to some agencies in April 2016!
Agencies: This month, Sean and Alex continued their pursuit of the most valuable agency contacts in the United States and abroad, with Alex focusing his research on the largest ad agency networks and their subsidiaries. They racked up a total of 82 calls, 128 emails, 18 connections and 2 meetings, which took Alex and Meli to New York for a day of portfolio events. They also had several clients reach out as a result of calls from February and March, looking for photographers all over the world! Looks like the seeds are already germinating.
