TIME and ASMP: The American Society of Media Photographers have teamed up to create The Human Element: A Global Photographic Portraiture Competition. The contest, which is open worldwide to participants over the age of 18, aims to highlight the diverse spectrum of portraiture.
The competition will be juried by TIME Deputy Director of Photography Dilys Ng, Time Photo Editor Sangsuk Sylvia Kang, Photoville Co-Founder Laura Roumanos, and photographer Martin Schoeller.
There are over $16,000 in cash prizes, with other prizes including a paid photo assignment for TIME, a custom three-month mentorship with the photo editors of TIME, and a Lifetime complimentary Membership in ASMP.
The entry period opens Tuesday, September 26, and closes Tuesday, November 7. See The Human Element website for more details.
