The holidays are always a fun and interesting time of year, and what they do to web analytics is no different. Rising above the web industry trend of around 30%-40% web traffic decrease for the month of December, wonderfulmachine.com only saw about a 12% drop in our numbers overall with 14,877 sessions this month, and 53,665 page views. Our average session length also stayed steady at 4-minutes and 12 seconds, which puts us at the second month in a row over the 4-minute mark.

As usual, our views by location show the U.S. as the leader with 9,781. We reported last month on our strange case with the election-based bot interfering, making it seem as though Russia ranked second for most searched from location. However, the numbers have dropped significantly, and we are just seeing the tail end of those session views being filtered out. Therefore, the U.K. holds true for the second most session with 610, and Canada third with 553.

Even though we may have seen an overall holiday slump, our Wonderful Machine Blog certainly didn’t! With 7,125 views, we actually increased our views from November. We also saw tears coming up in the top ten from Jillian Clark and Dhanraj Emanuel, likely due to their strong social media sharing and participation.
