The scarves and hats are out, thick cotton socks warm the toes, and daydreaming of warm places eases the mind. Whether grimacing or jubilating the abundance of Christmas ads, our client outreach team continues to share our photographers with creative directors and art buyers.
Let’s look at the numbers first. In case you don’t know already, we maintain a database of potential clients, or prospects, to whom we reach out and are always on the lookout for new professionals and companies to offer photography services. In November, we added 73 companies and 253 individuals to our prospect list. Of the 329 emails we sent to potential clients, we received 27 meaningful replies and ended up on five phone calls to pitch our photographers’ work. We also received 16 stock requests. Finally, during this month, our associate producers held four portfolio events in Washington, D.C.
We received a few generous compliments this month during our client outreach:
I hire photographers ALL the time from you guys. You all built my database!
– Photo Producer at Pace Communications.
I use Wonderful Machine to find photographers in different areas and it’s a really helpful search engine for me.
– Art Director at Quarto Group
I’ve personally used Wonderful Machine before for a shoot and had a great experience.
– Art Producer at FCBCURE
We’d also like to share some photographer successes from the month. Clay Cook of Louisville Kentucky had a busy month. He secured three shoots with estimating help from our producer, Craig Oppenheimer. These shoots were for a non-profit called Waterboys in Tanzania, Visit Lake Charles, and the Ronald McDonald House. New York-based Emily Andrews had two shoots that we helped estimate — one with American Express and another with Neue House. Montreal-based Christian Fleury landed a gig with Nature Magazine through our recommendation.
