Demographics Overview

The Demographics Overview tool within Google Analytics 4 provides a comprehensive portrayal of our website users’ profiles. It includes details about their geographical locations down to the country and city level, as well as insights into their gender and language preferences.

In July, approximately 59% of the visitors to our website originated from the United States, followed by the United Kingdom, Canada, India, and Germany.

Looking at cities, New York led as the city with the highest number of our website’s users. It was followed by London, Los Angeles. Coming in fourth place, with 173 users was Ashburn, Virginia. This is a mystery for us since it’s such a small city and since we only have a few people in our database who live there. We will report back to you if we solve this (please let us know if you have any ideas).

The Traffic Acquisition report offers valuable insights into how users are finding and arriving at our website.

Analytics categoryJuly 202311-month average% change
Users1.0K0.9K+11.1
Views4.1K4.4K-6.8
Views per user4.14.9-16.3

In July, there was a slight increase in users on our Find Photographers page compared to our 11-month average. Our Find Photographers search page saw a total of 1.7K users, of which 1.0K users performed a search, with each search averaging about 4.1 page views. One page view might involve a single search or span several pages of search results, with each page showing up to 25 photographer profiles.

Browse View vs. List View

We provide our users with two unique ways to search for photographers. They can either browse through photographer galleries or search through individual photographer profiles. While the profile view presents users with a concise view of each photographer’s information, other users prefer to browse through galleries of images. What follows is a comparison of the usage between the ‘Find Photographers’ and ‘Browse Photographers’ pages.
